GACC: China's steel exports fall 10% YoY to 34 million tonnes in Jan-Apr

China's finished steel exports over January-April totaled 34.21 million tonnes, according to the latest statistics from the country's General Administration of Customs (GACC) published on May 9, lower by 9.7% from the first four months of last year.

During April alone, China exported 9.5 million tonnes of finished steel, still down 9.2% on year, Mysteel calculated based on the GACC data. However, the pace of decrease slowed compared with the 12.6% on-year fall during March, with the April result even representing a 4% improvement from the March total, Mysteel Global noted.
