India initiates AD probe into imports of CRGO and amorphous metals

India has decided to launch an anti-dumping (AD) investigation into imports of cold-rolled grain-oriented electrical steel (CRGO) and amorphous metals - both of which are used as transformer core materials - from Japan, China, South Korea, and Russia, according to an official release published on June 22.

The investigation was initiated by India's Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) in response to a petition filed by JSW JFE Electrical Steel Nashik, a major local producer of CRGO but not amorphous metals.
