Rio's SimFer Simandou project on track to reach 60 mln t/y in H2 2028

SimFer, the joint venture between Australian mining giant Rio Tinto, the Government of Guinea, and the Chinalco-led Chalco Iron Ore Holdings (CIOH) consortium, has confirmed that the Simandou project is progressing steadily toward its planned annual capacity of 60 million tonnes/year, which is expected to be reached in the second half of 2028, according to a company update released on June 4.
