On August 18, the General Administration of Customs of China released the latest data showing that in July 2026, China imported 535.61 million lithium-ion batteries, up 30.4% year-on-year. For the January–July period, cumulative imports reached 3,154.78 million units, an increase of 22.9% compared with the same period last year.
In July 2026, China exported 117.08 million lithium-ion batteries, a year-on-year rise of 30%. Over the first seven months of the year, cumulative exports amounted to 773.99 million units, representing a robust 59% increase YoY.
