Production:
In June, China's combined production of power batteries and energy storage batteries reached 206.0 GWh, up 7.5% month-on-month (MoM) and 59.5% year-on-year (YoY). In H1 2026, cumulative production totaled 1,068.9 GWh, representing a YoY increase of 53.3%.
Sales:
In June, sales of power and energy storage batteries in China stood at 196.0 GWh, up 7.6% MoM and 49.1% YoY. Of this, power battery sales reached 133.4 GWh, accounting for 68.1% of total sales, up 5.0% MoM and 41.8% YoY. Energy storage battery sales totaled 62.6 GWh, accounting for 31.9% of total sales, up 13.4% MoM and 67.5% YoY.
For H1, cumulative sales reached 979.4 GWh, a YoY increase of 48.6%. Of this, power battery cumulative sales stood at 661.3 GWh, representing 67.5% of total sales, up 36.2% YoY. And that of energy storage battery reached 318.1 GWh, representing 32.5% of total sales, up 83.4% YoY.
Exports:
In June, total exports of power and energy storage batteries amounted to 36.2 GWh, up 23.7% MoM and 48.7% YoY, accounting for 18.5% of monthly sales. Of this, power battery exports stood at 25.5 GWh, representing 70.3% of total exports, up 26.6% MoM and 60.8% YoY. Energy storage battery exports accumulated 10.7 GWh, representing 29.7% of total exports, up 17.3% MoM and 26.1% YoY.
For H1, cumulative exports totaled 181.3 GWh, up 42.5% YoY, accounting for 18.5% of cumulative sales. Of this, cumulative power battery exports reached 122.7 GWh, representing 67.7% of total exports, up 50.3% YoY. Meanwhile, cumulative energy storage battery exports totaled 58.6 GWh, representing 32.3% of total exports, up 28.5% YoY.
Installed Capacity:
In June, China's power battery installations reached 76.5 GWh, up 6.4% MoM and 31.5% YoY. Of this, ternary battery installations reached 12.7 GWh, accounting for 16.5% of total installations, down 5.5% MoM but up 18.1% YoY. LFP battery installations stood at 63.7 GWh, accounting for 83.3% of total installations, up 9.2% MoM and 34.4% YoY.
For H1, cumulative domestic power battery installations totaled 335.6 GWh, up 12.0% YoY. Of this, ternary battery cumulative installations reached 63.4 GWh, representing 18.9% of total installations, up 14.2% YoY. And cumulative LFP battery installations amounted 272.0 GWh, representing 81.0% of total installations, up 11.5% YoY.
