Production:
In July, China's combined production of power and energy storage batteries reached 218.0 GWh, up 5.8% month-over-month (MoM) and 62.9% year-on-year (YoY). For the January–July period, cumulative production of power and energy storage batteries amounted to 1,286.9 GWh, representing a YoY increase of 54.9%.
Sales:
In July, sales of power and energy storage batteries totaled 185.2 GWh, down 5.5% MoM but up 45.5% YoY. Of this total, power batteries accounted for 129.1 GWh, or 69.7% of total sales, down 3.3% MoM and up 41.6% YoY. While that of energy storage batteries accounted for 56.1 GWh, or 30.3% of total sales, down 10.3% MoM and up 55.4% YoY.
From January to July, cumulative sales of power and energy storage batteries reached 1,164.6 GWh, a YoY increase of 48.1%. Of this, cumulative sales of power batteries stood at 790.4 GWh, representing 67.9% of total sales and a YoY increase of 37.1%. Meanwhile, cumulative sales of energy storage batteries stood at 374.2 GWh, representing 32.1% of total sales and a YoY increase of 78.6%.
Exports:
In July, total exports of power and energy storage batteries amounted to 35.2 GWh, down 2.7% MoM but up 51.7% YoY, accounting for 19.0% of monthly sales. Of this, power battery exports reached 24.0 GWh, or 68.0% of total exports, down 6.0% MoM and up 62.1% YoY. Energy storage battery exports reached 11.3 GWh, or 32.0% of total exports, up 4.9% MoM and up 33.4% YoY.
For the January–July period, cumulative exports of power and energy storage batteries totaled 216.6 GWh, a YoY increase of 43.9%, representing 18.6% of cumulative sales. Of this, cumulative exports of power batteries reached 146.7 GWh, or 67.7% of total exports, up 52.1% YoY. And that of energy storage batteries reached 69.9 GWh, or 32.3% of total exports, up 29.3% YoY.
Installed Capacity (Vehicle Mounts):
In July, China's installed capacity of power batteries reached 74.6 GWh, down 2.5% MoM but up 33.5% YoY. Of this, ternary batteries accounted for 11.1 GWh, or 14.9% of total installed capacity, down 12.1% MoM and up 1.8% YoY. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries accounted for 63.1 GWh, or 84.6% of total installed capacity, down 1.0% MoM and up 40.5% YoY.
From January–July, cumulative installed capacity of power batteries reached 410.2 GWh, a YoY increase of 15.4%. In detail, cumulative installed capacity of ternary batteries reached 74.5 GWh, or 18.2% of the total, up 12.1% YoY. And that of LFP batteries reached 335.1 GWh, or 81.7% of the total, up 16.0% YoY.
