Aurizon renews coal haulage contract with BMA out to 2040

Australian rail operator Aurizon Holdings Ltd has concluded a new performance-based contract with BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), a coking coal miner headquartered in Queensland's state capital Brisbane, according to an announcement from Aurizon published on the Australian Securities Exchange on August 17.

The contract takes effect on July 1 2028, allowing Aurizon to ship 37 million tonnes/year of coal products from BMA's coking coal mines in the Bowen Basin in central Queensland, according to Aurizon.
