Recently, a public notice from the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission showed that the energy conservation report for Xuzhou Xinrui Lithium Battery Materials Co., Ltd.'s 400,000-tonne lithium iron phosphate (LFP) project has officially obtained administrative approval. This marks another major layout by GCL Group in the LFP cathode material segment.
The project involves a total investment of up to Yuan 4 billion and is located within the premises of Jiangsu GCL Silicon Material Technology Development Co., Ltd. in the Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. It will be constructed by leasing existing factory buildings and some auxiliary and public utility facilities, without requiring additional industrial land.
The project will involve expanding, upgrading, and renovating the leased factory buildings, and procuring core production equipment including drying towers, hot blast furnaces, specialized kilns, crushers, and classifiers. Once completed, it will form an annual production capacity of 400,000 tonnes of LFP cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
