China's imports of ternary cathode materials totaled 10,238 tonnes in July 2026, an increase of 250 tonnes or 2.5% month-on-month, and an increase of 3,581 tonnes or 53.8% year-on-year, according to data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC).
Of this total, imports of lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide (NCM-type) amounted to 8,591 tonnes, while imports of lithium nickel cobalt aluminium oxide (NCA-type) stood at 1,647 tonnes.
For the January–July 2026 period, cumulative imports of cathode materials reached 63,921 tonnes, representing a year-on-year increase of 72.8%.
