On September 18, Yuneng Wengfa (Guizhou) New Energy Battery Materials Co., Ltd. released the first public notice for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of its 400,000-tonne lithium iron phosphate (LFP) production line project and its 550,000-tonne iron phosphate production line project.
The projects are located in Weng'an County, Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. The company plans to build a new 400,000-tonne LFP production line, along with warehouses, power transformation and distribution rooms, fire protection facilities, and other production and auxiliary production facilities, as well as supporting utility and auxiliary works such as an R&D building and a logistics building. The iron phosphate project covered by the public notice has a total land area of approximately about 70.6 hectares and will include a 550,000-tonne iron phosphate production line, supporting wastewater treatment facilities, and an office and living area.
In addition, the project investor, Yuneng Wengfa, also issued a public notice for a 650,000-tonne phosphogypsum resource-utilization decomposition project to produce 300,000-tonne sulfuric acid, integrated with solid waste disposal, further improving the supporting layout of the circular industrial chain.
Yuneng Wengfa is wholly owned by Hunan Yuneng, with registered capital of Yuan 1.5 billion. Its business scope covers the manufacturing, R&D, and sales of electronic specialty materials, as well as fertilizer sales.
