South Korea begins AD probe into Chinese seamless pipe imports

South Korea's trade adjudicator, the Korea Trade Commission (KTC), has decided to accept a complaint lodged by local producer ILJIN Steel and begin an anti-dumping investigation into carbon steel seamless pipes and tubes imported from China. The KTC began its probe on October 8 and preliminary findings are expected within three months.

The China-origin products being investigated are those manufactured by piercing round billets to form hollow tubes, regardless of alloy content, outside diameter, wall thickness, length, tensile strength or elongation, according to the KTC. Stainless steel pipes and casings, tubing and drill pipes used in oil and gas wells for
