China's import coal arrivals slump 25% WoW due to typhoon

Import coal arrivals at Chinese ports from the main exporters plunged by 24.8% during the week ended on September 3, due to the onset of Super Typhoon Saola which disrupted vessels entering Southern China ports, according to Mysteel's tracking survey data.

A total of 20.65 million tonnes of the overseas coal, primarily thermal coal, arrived in Chinese ports over August 28-September 3, lower by 24.8% from the previous week, the survey data shows.
