Henan's Anyang Steel commissions new HiB silicon steel line

Anyang Iron and Steel Co (Anyang Steel), the Shanghai-listed arm of Henan Iron & Steel Group Co, based in Anyang city in Central China's Henan province, has commissioned a grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) facility, the company announced on September 18.

The GOES line, which has a capacity of 60,000 tonnes/year, is producing high magnetic oriented electrical steel (HiB), a grade with a higher degree of grain orientation that promises large improvements in core loss and higher performance than common GOES, Anyang Steel says.
