Tsingshan Holdings confirms expansion of Zimbabwe steel plant

Tsingshan Holding Group, China's largest stainless steel producer, is keeping to its plan to expand the integrated steel works it operates in Zimbabwe to 1.2 million tonnes/year, according to local news reports, but timing remains unclear.
The works, located in Manhize in Zimbabwe's Midlands province west of Harare, is managed by Tsingshan subsidiary Dinson Iron & Steel Company (Disco) and currently has a crude steel capacity of 600,000 t/y. The company produces a range of construction steels including rebars, bar in coil and wire rods,
