On June 15, the market price of electrolytic cobalt rose Yuan 1,028/tonne to Yuan 383,764-387,000/tonne. In addition, the market prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to remain stable at 88,000/t-92,000/t and 109,000-114,000/t respectively.On the demand side, NCM precursor manufacturers are purchasing cautiously, primarily consuming existing inventories. Spot transactions were light, showing a clear characteristic of rigid demand procurement. The growth of LFP (lithium iron phosphate) has led to limited incremental procurement of cobalt-containing materials, while the production schedule of NCM materials for June remains flat month-on-month. In terms of the supply side, athough the DRC strictly enforces its export quota system, the concentrated arrival of previously backlogged cobalt intermediates is expected to create inventory accumulation pressure.
