DAILY: Seaborne iron ore index fluctuates in a narrow range amid fresh trades

Seaborne iron ore prices moved up slightly on Thursday, August 13. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines increased $0.15/dmt to $95.45/dmt, while the corresponding 62% Low Alumina Fines index decreased $0.20/dmt to $100.70/dmt. Both indices are based on CFR Qingdao.

Liquidity in the primary market was stable. One parcel of MACF with a September 10–19 laycan was sold at a fixed price of $94.90/dmt on a 60.6% Fe basis on the platform. Later, one parcel of PBF with a September-arrival laycan was offered at a fixed price of $96.50/dmt
