On September 20, the market price of electrolytic cobalt remained stable at Yuan 276,091-278,591/tonne. At the same time, the market prices of cobalt chloride and cobalt sulfate were flat at Yuan 75,000-77,000/tonne and 61,000/t-63,000/tonne respectively.The cobalt salt market continued its weak downward trend last week, with the market price shifting further lower. Quotations for both cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride showed a day-by-day decline, and the overall market trading atmosphere remained sluggish. Downstream ternary precursor and Co3O4 enterprises showed insufficient purchasing willingness, maintaining only rigid-demand restocking, making it difficult for transaction volumes to expand. On the cost side, cobalt intermediates prices continued to fall, further weakening the cost support for cobalt salts. On the supply side, the overall operating rate remained at a low level, with some enterprises focusing on fulfilling previously signed long-term agreements.
