Colombia's August coal exports hit 5-mth low

Colombia, the leading coal producer in Latin America, reported another steep decline in its coal exports in August, reflecting the impacts of the country's ban on coal shipments to Israel and slowed mining activity at a major mine.

In August, total coal exports from Colombia plummeted by 58.1% from July to reach 2.16 million tonnes, creating a new low since March this year.
