NBS: China's Jan-Oct FAI falls 1.7%, property slumps 14.7% YoY

China's fixed asset investment (FAI) declined by 1.7% on year to Yuan 40.89 trillion ($5.76 trillion) during January-October, further expanding the 0.5% on-year slide registered during the first nine months, according to the latest release by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on November 14.

Within the total, the cumulative funding in the country's property sector over the first ten months registered Yuan 7.36 trillion, shrinking by 14.7% compared to the year-ago level and marking the steepest on-year drop registered so far this year. Over January-October, the tertiary industry still attracted the most funding among the three major economic sectors, though the amount was nonetheless lower by 5.3%
