Thailand's 2025 coal imports drop 3.4% on year

For full-year 2025, Thailand's cumulative coal imports totalled 17.74 million tonnes, down 3.4% from the previous year, according to the latest Thai Customs data.
The overall decline was mainly driven by a 3.2% on-year drop in the country's imports of thermal coal, the primary coal type in its import mix. In 2025, Thailand received 17.65 million tonnes of thermal coal, comprising of bituminous, sub-bituminous and lignite coal, the data showed.   In contrast, imports of
