India's coal output grows 3.2% YoY in Jan for 5th straight rise

India's production of all types of coal totalled 107.96 million tonnes in January, up 3.2% on year and by 6.4% from last December, the latest data from the country's Ministry of Coal showed.

Last month's rise meant that coal output since September had increased for five months in a row, Mysteel Global observed. Coal India Limited (CIL), the country's largest state-run coal mining group, produced 79.81 million tonnes of coal in January, up 2.6% on year and 5.5% on month. The company contributed
