Production:
In April, China's combined production of power and energy storage batteries reached 183.9 GWh, up 3.5% month-on-month and 55.6% year-on-year. In the first four months of the year, cumulative production of power and energy storage batteries totaled 671.3 GWh, representing a year-on-year increase of 51.0%.
Sales:
In April, sales of power and energy storage batteries in China amounted to 164.2 GWh, down 6.2% MoM but up 39.0% YoY. Among them, power battery sales stood at 108.9 GWh, accounting for 66.4% of total sales, down 5.0% month-on-month but up 25.8% year-on-year. Energy storage battery sales reached 55.2 GWh, accounting for 33.6% of total sales, down 8.5% MoM but up 75.5% YoY.
In the first four months, cumulative sales of power and energy storage batteries reached 601.2 GWh, up 48.9% YoY. In detail, cumulative power battery sales were 400.9 GWh, accounting for 66.7% of total sales, up 31.9% YoY. Cumulative energy storage battery sales were 200.4 GWh, accounting for 33.3% of total sales, up 100.4% year-on-year.
Exports:
In April, affected by the new export tax rebate policy, China's combined exports of power and energy storage batteries totaled 31.7 GWh, down 12.3% month-on-month but up 42.0% year-on-year, representing 19.3% of the month's total sales. In detail, power battery exports reached 20.2 GWh, accounting for 63.9% of total exports, down 9.0% MoM but up 40.1% YoY. Energy storage battery exports reached 11.4 GWh, accounting for 36.1% of total exports, down 17.4% month-on-month but up 45.4% year-on-year.
In the first four months, cumulative exports of power and energy storage batteries reached 115.8 GWh, up 38.1% year-on-year, accounting for 19.3% of cumulative sales. Among them, cumulative power battery exports were 77.1 GWh, accounting for 66.6% of total exports, up 47.5% year-on-year. And that of energy storage battery exports reached 38.7 GWh, accounting for 33.4% of total exports, up 22.5% year-on-year.
Installations:
In April, domestic power battery installations reached 62.4 GWh, up 10.4% month-on-month and 15.2% year-on-year. In detail, NCM (ternary) battery installations stood at 11.5 GWh, accounting for 18.5% of total installations, up 7.6% MoM and 24.2% YoY. LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery installations reached 50.8 GWh, accounting for 81.5% of total installations, up 11.0% month-on-month and 13.4% year-on-year.
In the first four months, cumulative domestic power battery installations reached 187.2 GWh, up 1.6% year-on-year. Among them, cumulative NCM battery installations were 37.4 GWh, accounting for 20.0% of total installations, up 8.9% year-on-year. Cumulative LFP battery installations were 149.8 GWh, accounting for 80.0% of total installations, down 0.1% year-on-year.
