Zhongshan in South China's Guangdong province has revised its distributed PV management rules, covering project filing, construction, grid connection and operation. Commercial and industrial projects can no longer combine filings, rooftop additions are generally limited to 2.8 metres, and construction may start only after the grid operator issues an interconnection opinion. Investors remain responsible for safety, and all projects must enter the national registration system. The rules raise compliance requirements for developers and may slow low-quality distributed projects while favouring certified modules, inverters and mounting systems. Similar local tightening could spread across Guangdong.
