Xining Customs' trade assessment showed that Qinghai province exported Yuan 2 billion of photovoltaic products to other Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states in the first nine months of 2026. Monocrystalline wafers and cells were the core products. Total Qinghai-SCO trade rose 11.6% to Yuan 8.9 billion, with exports up 1.8% to Yuan 7.3 billion. The figures show Chinese upstream suppliers expanding beyond Europe and the Americas into Central and South Asian markets. This diversification can reduce exposure to single-market tariffs, but depends on regional logistics, project financing and importers' access to grid connections.
